Natalie Donaldson’s softball journey begins at the age of six, inspired by her weekends spent at the ball field watching her dad coach her brother’s baseball team. Growing up in a baseball-loving family, she is drawn to the sport and never looks back. Motivated by the players on her brother’s team, she tries out for youth softball and quickly falls in love with the game.

One of Natalie’s cherished softball memories is winning the 16U Power Pool at the Colorado Sparkler, a significant achievement that stands out in her career.

Her favorite player is Maya Brady, whose skill and passion inspire her on the field. When Natalie isn’t playing softball, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, heading to the beach, and going shopping.

Currently, Natalie’s goals reflect her desire for both personal and athletic growth. Off the field, she focuses on helping the younger generation, giving back to where she started by providing lessons and guidance. Academically, she aims to finish high school with a 4.0 GPA. On the field, she is preparing for college by improving her bat control, learning to read the defense, and enhancing her ability to adjust her hitting based on how she is being defended. She also strives to receive all-state recognition for the third consecutive year.

Natalie’s coach, Rodney Robeson, describes her as a powerhouse on the field, with unmatched focus and determination. As a teammate, she is selfless and always prioritizes the team’s success. Off the field, her dedication to her academics is just as impressive, as she balances the demands of being a student-athlete with ease. Natalie’s involvement in the softball community extends to mentoring younger players at the Turnin2 Training Center, where she gives back to the sport that shaped her.

One of her coach’s favorite memories is watching the development of her relationship with her hitting instructor, McKenzie Long. Both Natalie and McKenzie share a strong, caring bond, and their journey together as student and instructor has been remarkable to witness.

The Alliance Fastpitch recognizes Natalie as Player of the Month, honoring her for her contributions to the sport and her commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

As she moves from recreational to travel ball, she starts building friendships and a real love for the game. The heartaches of losing and the joy of winning bring her team closer together. Emily loves the competition and all the places and people she gets to meet and see.

A cherished softball memory for Emily is a recent game where her team faces elimination. In the last inning, down by a run with runners on 2nd and 3rd, Emily comes to bat. The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Haylee Wait (2026) from the Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in May 2024. Haylee Wait, a versatile player for Originals 26/27-Moss, excels in multiple positions—3B, P.

Haylee Wait’s softball journey begins at the age of seven. Initially involved in gymnastics, she and her older sister decide that the sport isn’t for them. They choose to try a season of recreational softball and quickly fall in love with the game. Haylee tries out for the competitive KC Dirt Devils and makes the 8U team, fully committing to competitive ball. She continues with the KC Originals in 10U and remains with the same team. Her sister, a catcher, joins an older Originals team a couple of years later. She has always been Haylee’s inspiration, helping her improve at pitching lessons and even working with her on the tee the night before Haylee hits her first home run. Their shared time is precious, especially as her sister prepares to head off to college this fall.

Haylee’s softball team is incredibly close, like a family, with many players having been together for years. Even newer members, whom she played with on the KC Dirt Devils, are integrated into the tight-knit group. The team may not be the biggest or strongest, but their great coaching, scrappiness, determination, and fiery spirit make them exceptional. They push each other to achieve amazing things, contributing to their greatness as a team.

A cherished memory for Haylee is from her second year of 12U during the World Fastpitch Championship tournament in Iowa. After falling into the losers bracket, the team faces the daunting task of winning six consecutive games to reach Championship Sunday. Despite the extreme summer heat and low expectations from others, the team plays six games late into the night and wins them all. Their determination and excitement to make it to Sunday are palpable, and although they finish in 5th place, the thrill of their comeback and the team photo after their 6th win, covered in sweat and dirt, makes the effort worthwhile.

Haylee’s favorite player is Mia Scott. Outside of softball, she finds joy in beach vacations, enjoying the sun, sand, and ocean, which bring her immense happiness.

Haylee’s current goals include maintaining a 4.0 GPA in high school, making First Team for her High School Varsity team again this year, graduating with honors, and attending college in Florida to study Marine Life. Her future career goal is to study and rehabilitate sea animals. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Haylee on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Morgan Davis (2032) from the Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in April 2024. Morgan Davis, a versatile player for Aces Fastpitch, excels in multiple positions—second base, shortstop, pitcher.

Morgan Davis’ softball journey begins as the youngest of five siblings, spending weekends at the ball fields either playing or watching her brother and sister. At the age of four or five, she dresses up in uniform and takes infield practice with her sister’s team before games.

A cherished memory for Morgan is making a diving stop on a hard ground ball in the hole and throwing the runner out at first from her knees, despite everyone yelling not to throw it.

Morgan’s favorite player is her sister Kaylee. Outside of softball, she enjoys fishing and pretty much anything outdoors.

Morgan’s current goals are to play softball at KU or somewhere in Florida. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Morgan on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

Morgan’s coach, Travis Davis, describes her as an intense competitor and good teammate who wants the ball when the game is on the line. She is a hard worker who loves math and was recently awarded the Citizenship award, recognizing her leadership and character at school and in the community.

Travis’ favorite memory of Morgan is from a game in Texas against a very good TX Glory team. Tied up in extra innings, the infield is in for a play at the plate. Morgan sells out on the ball but loses control, leading to the team losing the game. She is heartbroken, feeling she let her team down. However, his favorite memory is how she reacts to this failure, working hard in the next game and the rest of the weekend. Morgan wants the ball when the pressure is on, a rare quality for someone her age.

Summer Branch’s softball journey begins with her family’s love for the game. Her mother, both her aunts, and her grandfather all played softball and continued to coach and support it through their kids. Summer’s mom inspires her to keep working and getting better, always pushing her to practice and work hard even when she doesn’t really want to. Both her parents are her biggest supporters, always willing to do anything for her and her softball career. Summer loves playing softball because it always gives her something to work for and improve at. She also loves the feeling of competing and striving to be her best every time she’s on the field.

A cherished softball memory for Summer is making it to the championship of the Top Club Fall Invite and finishing their games at 11:30 pm, followed by a six-hour drive home. She missed school the next day because they arrived home at 5:45 in the morning.

Summer’s favorite player is Kara Daly, but outside of softball, she finds joy in reading, shopping, swimming, and hanging out with her friends.

Currently, Summer’s goals include winning a district title with her high school team, hitting three home runs this summer, and going to college to become a pediatrician. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Summer on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
